Course Description
Covers various programming languages and codes, including HTML, Javascript, and CSS as they apply to web development.
The course will cover the following languages:
- (X)HTML: Forms the basic structure for web pages. http://www.w3schools.com/xhtml/
- CSS: Describes the appearance of web pages: http://www.w3schools.com/css/
- Javascript: Enhances web pages on the client level. http://www.w3schools.com/javascript/
- PHP: Enhances web pages on the server level. www.php.net www.w3schools.com/php
- RSS and XML: Real Simple Syndication and Extensible Markup Language http://www.w3schools.com/xml/
Materials
All materials must be brought to every class.
Textbook: HML, XHML and CSS, by Elizabeth Castro. 6th Edition. ISBN 0321430840 (available at Amazon and Peachpit.
The 5th edition is acceptible, but not preferred.
Removeable storage device (see http://www.canisius.edu/comm_stud/dma/equipment.asp for more details).
Mandatory: Sketch/Idea book and drawing materials (sharpie markers, pencils, pilot razor point pens/roller balls).

Grading
Grades will be available on Blackboard. Check your grades frequently. Students will be given Quality Points (QPs) for each assignment, out of a maximum number possible.
