Students wishing to gain up to 50 points of extra credit for the class may choose to do a brief (10 minutes or less) presentation on a "Digital Topic" of their choice. For example, a student might open up a brief discussion about Google's purchase of Youtube, explain Youtube and Google technology, analyze why the purchase took place, and make some predictions about what may happen next. Or a student might present digital artwork by an artist she admires.
Students should email me with their idea and a date to present as soon as possible. One presentation may take place per class. Preference will be given to students date choices in the order that proposals are received.
Extra credit will be granted based on ratings assigned by me and the rest of the class. Students will rate the presentation on a scale of 1 to 5. Rating points will be tallied and an extra credit score will be determined.
Students may present only once. Team presentations will be accepted, and students will split the bonus points.
